“Is the control architecture of the AET T series close to that of an LCD television?” That was the first question asked on the Shenzhen Semiconductor Industry Development Association’s supply-chain visit, and it set the tone for the afternoon.
On 10 February AET hosted a delegation of member companies organised by the association under its strengthening-the-chain programme. Secretary-general Bao Enzhong led the group, with more than thirty companies from the association’s council and membership taking part in the session and the site tour of the AET metaverse showroom and the shared manufacturing base.
General manager Zhao Chunlei opened the session, and deputy general manager and academician workstation director Liang Wenji presented the latest research results and solution portfolio to the visiting executives.
Where the Company Stands
Through 2022 AET pushed domestic growth and brand export in parallel, holding its position in established sectors while extending into new applications. The year opened with a fourth appearance on the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, followed by a queue of projects: the first 8K naked-eye 3D screen in southern Sichuan, a large transparent screen, a dome screen and several COB walls.
What the Visitors Wanted to Discuss
The companies present introduced their own work and then went into the questions that matter to a supply chain: where the technology roadmap goes next, which parts are shared across products, and how a mid-sized supplier integrates with a display maker’s development cycle rather than selling into it one order at a time.
The interest in the architecture question is easy to explain. A standardised LED display architecture moves the product closer to consumer electronics in how it is designed, sourced and serviced, which changes what a component supplier is being asked to deliver: a catalogue part with a documented specification, rather than a bespoke assembly for one project.
The association will continue running the programme as a bridge between member companies, on the argument that a competitive display cluster is built from complementary suppliers rather than from individual firms.
