World Standards Day falls on 14 October. The theme this year concerns standards as the basis of quality and sustainable growth, which is a fair description of what the LED display industry has been doing.
On 10 October the second plenary session of the second National Technical Committee for Standardisation of Electronic Display Devices met in Xiamen, with officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Xiamen market regulator and the Xiamen industry bureau, together with committee members and experts.
Liang Wenji, AET deputy general manager and head of its academician workstation, sits on the committee, which was established in 2014 under the ministry and has published 118 national and industry standards to date.
Why the Standards Matter Now
China’s display industry has moved from catching up to leading on scale and shipment volume. Global display panel revenue reached USD 105.5 billion in 2023, with China accounting for 55%. At that scale, a unified and systematic technical standards framework is what keeps quality consistent.
What AET Has Contributed To
As one of the earliest companies to specialise in indoor fine-pitch display in China, AET has contributed to a long list of national and industry standards, including those for Mini LED indoor commercial display, general specification for indoor fine-pitch full-colour LED display systems, general technical specification for Mini LED commercial display, general specification for indoor COB small and micro-pitch LED display, Micro LED general specification for medium and large display, quality grading and leader assessment for LED display, optical performance specifications for automotive Micro LED display in both conventional and transparent forms, and test methods and technical requirements for Mini LED backlit LCD televisions.
