The 2025 Semiconductor Display Industry Conference opened in Shanghai on 11 October around the theme of technology breakthrough and ecosystem coordination. AET spoke at the event, and the 2025 MLED Display Industry White Paper, which the company helped author, was released.
The Micro-Level MIP Route
Addressing the central difficulty of Micro LED volume production, AET’s chief technical adviser Zhuang Wenrong set out the progress made in Micro-level MIP packaging.
-
Technology A substrate-free design on a sapphire carrier eliminates metal migration at the source for long-term reliability.
-
Image A gold-wire-free architecture gives contrast above 10,000:1, and ultra-thin chips give a 170-degree viewing angle without colour shift.
-
Industry fit Compatibility with existing SMT and COB processes, plus a panelised standard cabinet that replaces an LCD video wall directly.
In the AT55-MIP version, advanced packaging raises contrast and black level, improves colour temperature and chromaticity consistency, and holds accurate colour across a 170-degree angle — which is what suits high-end studios and medical display.
Contributing to the White Paper
The white paper sets out the technical path and the standardisation model for the next stage of the industry. AET contributed its experience in key technologies such as NX COB Ultra, standardised display units such as the 55-inch AT series, and deployment across multiple scenarios.
