AET has supplied LED display to eight core studios at Liaoning Radio and Television, covering news, sport and entertainment, and in doing so helped build the province’s first all-IP 4K studio and its first XR immersive stage.
Eight Studios, One Matrix
The broadcaster completed an intelligent upgrade of its studio system using AET’s KOALA and QR series, deploying close to 300 m² of high-precision LED across eight studios to cover its core content production.
Studio 2 uses 100 m² of QR series at P2.6 for annual award ceremonies and children’s choir programmes. Studio 4 uses 15 m² of KOALA at P1.875 for a 4K production space. The XR studio uses 75 m² of KOALA at P1.875 in a dual-backup configuration for live basketball and entertainment shows.
What an XR Stage Requires
Having served broadcasters for years, including the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, AET designs for the specific demands of the sector rather than adapting a generic product.
The XR studio uses a dedicated screen configuration: the live area is an L-shaped 90-degree installation in KOALA indoor fine pitch with dual power and dual signal. Combined with virtual extension, it builds a high-precision realistic environment where the physical and the generated image meet.
Three LED surfaces join seamlessly at high resolution, giving producers a wider frame and a more convincing depth cue.
The KOALA Platform
KOALA, chosen for several studios here, comes in 480 × 540 mm, 240 × 540 mm and 480 × 270 mm cabinets, with pitch from P0.9375 to P2.5, supporting arbitrary splicing and 90-degree right-angle builds. It has moved to AET’s third-generation standard architecture with front installation, hot swap, dual backup and wireless hard connection.
