One product, recognised in broadcast and selling steadily across mixed scenarios: more than 500 projects served, and cumulative single-product sales above RMB 300 million.
That product is the AET KOALA series — and it has now moved to full flip-chip COB. No longer merely adaptable, it aims to be complete.
Start With the Brief
Picture the requirement: a large exhibition space that needs a curved wall, a flat wall and a right-angle wall at the same time — possibly a full ring as well.
The conventional answer is to use flexible modules for the curved section, standard cabinets for the flat section, and custom parts for the corner. Mixing batches and build types makes black level and colour temperature hard to unify; flexible modules are less stable long-term than rigid cabinets; and bending a standard cabinet into a curve leaves a crease at the joint. The client wants one continuous visual experience, and the conventional route leaves visible seams.
KOALA answers it cleanly: one product that covers curved, flat, right-angle and ring geometry at once, in three standard sizes — 480 × 540 mm, 240 × 540 mm and 480 × 270 mm — assembled like display bricks.
Inner arcs, outer arcs, right angles and rings are all built without custom parts, and the difference in black level and colour temperature between build types disappears at the source. Smoother than a standard cabinet, more reliable than a flexible module.
One: Flexibility — Unlimited Shapes
Three sizes and three ratios combine freely to cover 2K, 4K and 8K+ standard resolutions as well as custom dimensions. A standard flat wall and a creative irregular wall are answered by the same inventory.
Two: Low Carbon — Less Power, Better Efficiency
Common-cathode supply drives the red, green and blue chips independently with precise current control, cutting energy use by more than 30% against a common-anode design. At equal brightness the power draw is markedly lower, which means less heat, higher stability and lower running cost.
Three: Picture Quality — Dual Backup, Always On
Power and signal are both backed up, supporting round-the-clock operation for broadcast studios, command centres and live production. 1/32 low-scan driving with 7,680 Hz refresh suppresses the scan lines that cameras pick up, meeting broadcast recording requirements: what you shoot is what you see.
What Full Flip-Chip COB Changes
The new KOALA COB version adopts full flip-chip COB packaging and delivers four measurable steps up from the previous build.
-
Reliability Chip-level packaging removes the risk of cold joints and wire breakage at the source.
-
Image quality and viewing angle The emitting surface is unobstructed, giving close to 170 degrees with no colour shift, uniform black level and deep blacks.
-
Efficiency Chips bond directly to the substrate, so the thermal path is the shortest possible and power draw falls significantly.
-
Protection and comfort IP65 rated against damp and impact, with a surface light source that stays comfortable over long viewing.
Already Proven in the Field
KOALA is in service across a wide range of significant installations at home and abroad.
In broadcast, the series runs from Liaoning TV, Hebei TV and Ningbo TV to several digital studios in Europe and North America, upgrading production quality for broadcasters worldwide.
In government, enterprise and meeting rooms, KOALA serves national institutions, oil companies, hydropower utilities and commercial clients across Europe, North America, Turkey, Kuwait and India.
In creative visual work — XR virtual production, indoor naked-eye 3D, even home cinema — the same platform provides dependable support for projects exploring what a display can do.
When a complex room meets KOALA COB, the question stops being what to build it from and becomes how you want to build it.
