Day-night temperature swings of tens of degrees, intense ultraviolet radiation, high altitude and low pressure. How does direct-view LED perform past the plateau line?
AET has completed two projects on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau using full flip-chip COB: the highway administration in Nyingchi, Tibet, and the visitor centre at Taoping Qiang Village in Sichuan.
Nyingchi Highway Administration
At a P1.2 specification, the display runs continuously in a place where oxygen is thin, UV is strong and temperature swings sharply — a visual lifeline for plateau traffic control, guarding a road that climbs through some of the most difficult terrain in the country.
Taoping Qiang Village Visitor Centre
At P1.25 full flip-chip COB, the screen gives accurate colour and a seamless image in a setting where nature and cultural heritage meet — a window through which an old civilisation talks to the present.
Why the Technology Suits the Site
Full flip-chip COB is built on advanced semiconductor packaging and assembly, and the plateau is the hardest test it can face.
-
Against the environment A flip-chip structure resists vibration, weathering and UV, and holds its performance through severe temperature swings and complex electromagnetic conditions.
-
Against the light High brightness, wide gamut and low power keep the image layered and detailed even in direct plateau sunlight.
-
Against the installation Modular design and unlimited splicing adapt to irregular spaces and complex structures.
Service at the Edge
Both projects demonstrate the same thing: the willingness to work in difficult environments and in critical fields. On a transport artery, display technology raises management efficiency and safety. In a cultural venue, it brings tradition into contact with the present.
High-Altitude and Extreme-Environment Projects
AET supplies COB display specified for wide temperature range and high UV exposure. Contact the team for a site assessment.
