On 11 August, at the engineering master’s and doctoral training conference and the unveiling of the Dongguan National Excellent Engineer Innovation Institute in Songshan Lake, AET was awarded the plaque of joint engineering master’s and doctoral training base.
The programme is intended to bring in and develop engineers able to solve real problems inside companies, providing technical talent for Dongguan’s industry.
How the Model Works
Dongguan was approved last year as one of the first four pilot cities for the national excellent engineer innovation institute. The model is that companies pose the problem and universities answer it, with support for joint work on key technologies and for collaboration between Dongguan companies and universities in Hong Kong, China and Macao, China.
The focus areas include industrial software, integrated circuits and new materials, aimed at high-quality manufacturing.
AET’s Platforms
AET already operates a Micro LED academician workstation, a Guangdong doctoral workstation, a Guangdong engineering technology research centre and a Guangdong intellectual property demonstration enterprise designation.
The new base adds a training route aimed at the technical problems specific to Mini and Micro LED, connecting teaching, research and commercialisation.
Research Collaboration
AET works with universities and research institutes on Micro LED materials, chips and packaging. Contact the team to discuss a programme.
