What do you picture when someone says irregular LED? A cascade of light falling from a mall ceiling. A Mobius strip closing on itself in a museum. A ribbon drifting across a launch stage. A ribbon of light pulsing in a city plaza.
The imagination is not the hard part. Getting it built is. The AET DR series flexible modules exist to close that gap.
SMD Flexible Modules: The Cost-Effective Route
For projects that need free-form geometry without an unlimited budget, the SMD flexible module is the sensible starting point: 320 × 160 mm, pitch from P1.25 to P2.5, and 110 degrees of bend.
1. Compatible with standard cabinets
The module uses the standard unit-board format and interfaces with conventional rigid modules. Rigid and flexible can be mixed within one project, which keeps installation flexible and the seams smooth.
2. Free-form geometry
Lightweight materials and a compact structure allow bending, folding and twisting: cylinders, spheres, waves, ribbons, even a Mobius strip.
3. Image quality retained
A flexible structure does not mean a compromise on resolution or brightness. The image stays sharp and saturated.
4. Maintenance made easy
High-strength magnets hold the modules in place, secure enough for permanent installation and simple enough to bring service cost and difficulty down.
COB Flexible Modules: The Next Step
If the SMD module answers “can it bend”, the COB module answers “does it bend reliably, and does it look remarkable”.
1. IP65 protection
The emitting chips are bonded directly to a flexible substrate, which delivers water, dust and impact resistance. An IP65 surface handles splashes and knocks without drama.
2. A step up in image quality
COB packaging gives a more uniform emitting surface and higher contrast. Fine detail, black consistency and viewing comfort all improve against a conventional SMD flexible assembly, and the image holds from every angle.
3. Lower energy use
Constant-current driving keeps the current precise and reduces losses, so the surface is even and the power draw is low over long running hours.
4. Art textures
Marble, timber, landscape and other finishes can be specified. On, it is a visual surface; off, it belongs to the interior — not a display tool but a new kind of digital building material.
Global Installations
From exhibition halls in China to science centres in Russia, museums in Turkey and retail landmarks in India, DR flexible modules are turning irregular ideas into installed reality.
Exhibition · Ma Hengchang Exhibition Hall, P1.86 curved
A wrapped surface replaces the flat wall, so the historical imagery and the physical exhibits share one field of view. Wherever the visitor stands, the industrial narrative holds together.
Science and education · Lomonosov Science Centre, Russia, P1.5 curved
A soft curved display wall follows the building geometry, balancing teaching function with the architecture. High resolution and refresh rate keep the picture clean in a high-footfall public space.
Museum · a Turkish museum, P1.8 sphere
Flexible modules follow the sphere precisely to build a globe display. High contrast and black consistency render the planet’s evolution and natural wonders in detail.
Retail landmark · VR Mall, India, P2.5 cylinder
A single DR cylinder turned a structural obstacle into a focal point: a 360-degree column of moving light in VR Mall that shoppers can see from any direction.
Cinema · PVR, India, P2.5 ring
A suspended flexible ring wraps the audience in picture before the film starts. Because the modules follow the ring radius exactly, the light structure is lighter, and front maintenance keeps overhead service manageable.
If you can sketch it, the DR series can probably build it. Send us the geometry and we will come back with the module split.
Flexible Modules, Specified Properly
DR series covers SMD at P1.25–P2.5 and COB with IP65 and optional art textures, in cylinders, spheres, rings and free-form surfaces. Ask for a module layout.
