For the fifth consecutive year, AET supplied the visual system to the CCTV Spring Festival Gala — more than 1,000 m² of main screen and stage display on the QV indoor creative rental series.
What Was Built
The QV series drove an XR plus VP hybrid production system: LED surfaces combined with virtual production methods, dynamic storyboard previews and linked practical and virtual lighting, producing a stage where the performers move between a physical set and a generated one.
More than a hundred LED surfaces, controlled centrally through the broadcaster’s ultra-high-definition video management system, worked with the dragon-form stage scenery to change scene without a physical set change.
The broadcast also deployed an immersive stage interaction system and a free-viewpoint capture system that records performer motion, with AI production and AR real-time rendering combining the two.
The QV Series
QV is a rental product built around strength and safety: light, thin, modular, fast to rig. It offers 3,840 and 7,680 Hz refresh, 16-bit and above greyscale and DCI-P3 coverage, which is what virtual production needs.
A 45-degree mitred edge allows flexible module joining into flat, curved, column, cube, S-shape and cylindrical forms, and mixed flat-and-curve builds.
