One screen makes a thousand years of poetry and rice-wine culture step out into the street.
Fangxian in Shiyan, Hubei, holds three cards: the Book of Songs, yellow rice wine and the “wild man” legend. With the new high-speed rail link from Xi’an, the window for cultural tourism in this old county town has opened.
AET supplied the full-scenario LED solution that carries that heritage out of the archive and into the street.
One Screen, Three Faces
The screen stands in the core of Fangxian. The project uses AET’s P5 outdoor product across 500 m² in a three-sided wrapping structure, breaking the visual limit of a flat wall: whichever direction a visitor approaches from, the screen is there to meet them.
-
Brightness and refresh The image stays legible in direct sunlight, and the naked-eye 3D effect reads smoothly out of the screen.
-
Temperature range Stable through Fangxian’s sharply seasonal climate, from deep cold to summer heat.
-
Protection Dust and water resistant, built for continuous outdoor duty.
More importantly, the screen does not simply play images — it lets culture leave the surface. The poetry collection of Yin Jifu, the amber pour of Fangxian rice wine, the classic image of the ospreys on the river islet: all become renderable, walkable digital experience.
What the Screen Is Worth to the City
Read from the perspective of urban development, the value runs well beyond a piece of display hardware.
First, it is an ultra-high-definition name card for local tourism. Promotion used to mean posters and films; a naked-eye 3D screen at the centre of the town is now the most direct channel for drawing visitors in.
Second, it is a new public living room. Merged with the building facade, an ordinary urban space becomes a landmark with its own traffic — part tourism window, part public cultural space.
Third, it activates surrounding consumption. The traffic a city screen gathers supports food, retail and accommodation nearby, forming a loop from screen to experience to spending. At the point where Fangxian is pushing cultural tourism integration, the screen is both a window for culture and a contact point for commerce.
Technical parameters are the skeleton of a good LED screen; content is its soul. In Fangxian the 500 m² naked-eye 3D wall is that idea in practice — and the same engineering is at work in smart cities, commercial landmarks, stadiums and transport hubs.
