On 19 July, the first day of InfoComm China 2023 in Beijing, AET released a 172-inch DCI-graded curved LED home cinema.
Why a Curve
The human lens focuses on a spherical surface rather than a plane, so a screen with the right curvature presents an image closer to how the eye sees a real scene.
The 172-inch screen uses a 16-degree inner curve, which follows the arc of vision and reduces the eye’s need to refocus across the frame.
Why the Standard Architecture Matters
The fifth-generation architecture, launched in April that year, won the China LED Originality gold award and is what allows a standard product to reach 4K cinema resolution (4096 × 2160) rather than a bespoke build.
Cinema-Grade Image
AET was the first LED display company in China to certify both 2K and 4K 10-metre cinema screens with Hollywood DCI. The home version holds the same standards: DCI-P3 gamut, 50,000:1 contrast and 3,840 Hz or higher refresh at a 48-nit reference brightness.
Sound, Light, Picture, Control
-
Sound Dolby Atmos with 19.4 channels, with left, centre, right, surround and low-frequency channels configured for an LED cinema screen.
-
Light Because LED does not need a dark room, lighting scenes can be designed into the space rather than excluded from it.
-
Picture 4K cinema resolution with support for disc, broadcast, streaming and theatrical content, plus a meeting mode.
-
Control One-touch operation across audio, lighting and screen, by app, mini-program, wall panel or voice.
